Instruments/Talents:

Experience In The Music Field:
"I have been playing guitar for a little over 9 years, and I started when I was in
the 5th grade.  My first band was called the "various Apricots" and that was
probably in about 6th grade.  I've been taking lessons the entire time that I
played guitar, and I actually use to take lesson from PMC about 8 years ago. I
then studied jazz and music reading with the jazz guitarist Steve Preggmon up
until about 2 years ago when I started at Buff State College.I am currently
earning my B.A. in Music Performance from Buffalo State for classical guitar,
although I am still very very active on the electric guitar. Through Buff State I
am taking classical lessons with Evan Drummond, and privately I am taking
jazz lessons with Matt Michaud, who teaches at Pro Music as I’m sure you
know. At Buff State I play in the Jazz Ensemble, the Guitar Quartet, and the
Guitar Trio, as well as sing in the Vocal Jazz Ensemble, and the Chorale. I
perform solo usually about once every semester, possibly more. I also play in a
band called “Greengage” which I have been in for about 5 years. We are pretty
much every genre, and play out pretty regularly."

Favorite Instrument:
"My favorite instrument is guitar, and more specifically almost any nice
hollowbody"

Why He Enjoys Teaching Music:
"I love spreading music to everyone that I can, and I love to teach people how to
spread music with their guitars"

Why Music Is A Passion:
"I am extremely into improvisation, and I feel that when you are improvising you
are playing music in its rawest form. It puts you completely in the moment; you
stop thinking and just start feeling the flow, almost as if you are just tapping
into this flowing thing that was already happening"

Musical Inspiration:
"Some big influences that I have are probably Trey Anastasio, Carlos Santana,
George Benson, and more recently Kurt Rosenwinkle."

Any Other Interesting Facts:
"In my personal playing I am very into Jazz, funk, and contemporary music, but
I also love playing many other styles. I try not to see playing as being clearly
defined separate styles, but instead just a melding of different sounds to create
something original."
